Is There Only One Way To Market?

Written By: Hannah Hitchcock

Who’s to say there is only one way to market your product. In the grand scheme of things, there are many different types of marketing. From print, signage, and speaking events to social media, podcasts, blogging, videos, and more! We can usually put all the different types of marketing into two categories: Physical and Digital marketing.

So the quick answer is, No. There is more than one way to market, but keep in mind that it might not mean that you use every type of marketing. What does that mean?

Every business is different in its entirety. From how they produce their products to what their products are. So if we base marketing on our services, products, and mission from the business, doesn’t that mean that every business might have a different and unique way to market because of their audience, customers, and the team is specific to them?

Yup.

So, how do you know which type of marketing is good for your business?

Here are a couple of things to think about when trying to narrow down your marketing options and enhance your marketing strategy.

  • What are the products and services you are offering?

If you are a business that mostly deals with website design, graphics, and social media marketing, odds are you are in the digital marketing spectrum and need to base your marketing strategy on the idea that most of your audience is probably online. Because… that’s where you are at.

If you are a business that deals with more of the tangible side of marketing. Yep, you guessed it, you are in the physical marketing spectrum. This spectrum allows you to branch out to your audience in a different way. You give them an in-house experience along with a lasting impression of your products.

  • Where do you get the most of your business from?

I realize that this question can have a wide range of answers based on what services and products you provide. This question is primarily based off of, how your clientele finds out about you? Is it through word of mouth, seeing your products at other places, or visiting a website you built?

Why does this matter?

Well, when you look at how your customers are finding out about you, that will help you understand which way is better to market your products. Physically or Digitally. And then plan out how to go from there!
