Why Should a Nonprofit Consider Working with a Marketing Firm?

At Holmes, we have the opportunity to partner with many nonprofits in the Springfield, Dayton, and surrounding areas. While each nonprofit is unique, to date we have helped them brainstorm, plan, execute, and analyze their marketing strategies. We understand the importance of every single grant dollar and donation check spent, and aim to give our clients the highest return we can.

Recently, I had the opportunity to interview Allison Peck from the Clark County Public Library. Below, she shares her experience of working with Holmes as a nonprofit:

What was your marketing like before partnering with Holmes?

Prior to the early 2000’s, we had a new logo and color scheme adopted. We had done some concentrated marketing for our Speaker Series from 2000-2010. Other than that, we did very little in an overall strategy for communicating information about the resources and opportunities at the library.

What was your biggest challenge when trying to complete marketing without a marketing agency?

Trying to have every piece (print, web, strategy, etc.) tie together in a sense of an overarching theme and consistency in our messaging.

Why did you decide to partner with Holmes?

To help us reach more potential users – but also the help people realize all of the resources and services today’s libraries have!

What has your experience been with Holmes so far?

Very positive! The team at Holmes has been extremely responsive to our requests and special circumstances specific to our organization. They are a creative and thoughtful group who is always fun to work with.

How does partnering with the right marketing agency improve your organization?

It can’t be overstated how important it is to work with an agency who does great work. They are very professional and it is wonderful to be able to trust them with projects. Things are done correctly and ahead of time. They always meet or exceed my expectations.

If you could change something about your experience with Holmes, what would it be and why?

I wish we had started working with them sooner!

What are you most excited for in the future with your partnership with Holmes?

Seeing the direction things will take. Technology is consistently changing libraries and what we offer our users. We look forward to working with Holmes as they help us build our user base and further explain the importance of our library to the community Рand how they can use us to improve their lives.

What does this mean for your nonprofit?

While every nonprofit is unique in their values, visions, and goals, they all have a common need to partner with agencies that do more than just the bare minimum. Nonprofits require specialized and unique attention. They require partnering agencies to come alongside them – to see their dreams and help make them a reality.
