Meet Ellen Snyder! Ellen has been a part of the Holmes team since February of 2018.
As the Marketing & Sales Strategist for Holmes Marketing Services, she has a few key areas of focus including Internal marketing strategy for Holmes Marketing Services, External marketing strategy for our wonderful clients, Sales enablement, and Team alignment.
Her favorite component of her position is the ability to direct her creativity into impactful solutions for Holmes clients. Ellen says, “My favorite thing about working at Holmes is the people! I love how everyone is always so willing to answer questions, brainstorm new solutions, and work through any problems to support our clients.”
We sat down with Ellen and asked her a few questions about her role here at Holmes. Here’s what she had to say:
What does a “typical day” look like for you at the office?
A typical day for me sort of depends on what hats I am wearing that day. If I am wearing the internal marketing strategy hat, I am writing out our marketing plan, analyzing if we are hitting our goals, or writing content to share with our audience.
When I am wearing my content writing and web support hat, then I am writing SEO and user-friendly content for our clients’ websites or pulling and analyzing their website metrics to help them fully utilize their site’s potential.
If I am wearing my digital marketing hat, I am providing support for our clients in writing, managing, strategizing, and analyzing their online presence. This could look like writing blogs, creating captivating social media content, or executing their Google Ads.
If I am wearing my marketing consultant hat, then I am providing our clients with thoughtful and individualized advice to get the most out of their marketing efforts.
Finally, if I am wearing my Revenue Team support hat, then I am brainstorming and creating new and helpful tools for our revenue team to accurately and fully share our story with current and potential clients.
What do you add to Holmes Marketing that sets us apart?
I believe my ability and my drive to always learn. Marketing changes hourly. There is no one in the world that can stay fully up to speed at every second. But I strive to always know the most important information so that our clients don’t have to.
My goal is that our clients should always feel comfortable to focus on what they do best, and that they trust us to take care of the rest.
What is the biggest lesson you have learned since working at Holmes?
I would say so far the biggest lesson I have learned is that sincerity is not dead in business. I spent a lot of my early career thinking that everyone was really just doing their jobs for themselves.
That is not the case with the leadership team and my coworkers at Holmes. Their hearts and minds are truly in everything they do for our clients. It is an honor to learn from them.
What is something you would still like to learn while at Holmes?
I would like to learn more about SEO and basic coding abilities. We have an awesome team of web designers and developers. I would love to be able to step in and lend a helping hand in a pinch if needed.
What is your favorite memory to date at Holmes?
Having the opportunity to share my passion and expertise with Lisa at the WiBN conference last fall was absolutely amazing. I love getting to share what I do. That event was the perfect platform to share our expertise and collaborate with other businesswomen in the Dayton and Miami Valley area.
