2018 Year in Review – A Message from the Holmes Leadership Team

2018 year in review

We are so excited to share with you all our first annual yearly review! In this post, you will gain insight into what we have been up to in 2018. There will also be a glimpse into what the future holds for Holmes Marketing.

During the past 12 months, we have been laser focused on continuing to strengthen our company culture. As a small business in Springfield, Ohio, we take building and maintaining our company culture very seriously. 2018 – The Year of Processes!

We began 2018 with the implementation of a new leadership and management process company-wide known as EOS, the Entrepreneurial Operating System.  This empowered our team to affect change and follow a core group of guiding principles. It also allowed us to follow a structure for goal setting and problem solving.

We established 1 year, 3 year and 10 year goals as well as outlining what action steps must be taken to achieve those goals. This system empowers team members to monitor weekly scorecards. It also sets 90 day rocks for the teams that all work towards the long term company vision.

This process has been transformational throughout our company to ensure that we set goals and work towards accomplishing them on a regular and routine basis.

Also in 2018, we invested in our Digital Production Department to stay on the cutting edge of print marketing technology. We made numerous investments into our software as well, ensuring that we are utilizing software and technology that follows best practices for ourselves and our clients.

Team Member Updates

This year, we said goodbye to some existing team members as they relocated to other states and welcomed some new talented individuals to our team that enabled us to expand our digital marketing expertise as well as our web development capacity. If you have not yet met those new team members, please come in for a visit and a tour! We would love to show you around our newly renovated space.

As the Leadership Team, we continue to encourage and foster a culture of passionate and creative individuals. As a result, our team is not only respectful and supportive of each other, they enjoy coming to work everyday!

We also encourage our team to feed their passion by adopting lifelong learning habits as a path to moving forward. (The next time you stop in, be sure to ask Mike England about Word Camp, Jenny Reolfi about her most recent Streamline webinar, and Karen Miller about what she is learning in the world of direct mailing for marketing.)

We also promoted a team member from within to our Production Manager which allowed Brian to add Project Traffic Manager to his plate. This restructure will ensure our ability to meet and exceed the needs of our clients.

Revenue Team

We combined our Sales and Marketing teams at the beginning of the year to form one united Revenue Team. Each member of this team has their unique goal and objective. And our success relies on supporting each other and focussing on solving our clients’ problems.

We have invested our time heavily this year in networking and being present in our community to share the Holmes story. We’ve conducted over 46 tours of our agency this year. On these tours, guests meet our team and see how Holmes is a new type of agency built for the future.

Community Outreach & Involvement

Mid-year, our team launched “Celebrity Jenga” which is our unique and fun way to highlight area businesses and organizations. Through the game that we stream live on Facebook, our guests have the opportunity to share their story along with playing a fun and friendly game of Jenga with our awesome team members. We also volunteered our time and talents in several ways throughout the year. We sponsored and volunteered at the Developmental Disabilities Dye Hard 5K, volunteered at the Springfield City Youth Missions Biz Basics and spent time at the Second Harvest Food Bank sorting much needed food and resources for those in need within our community.

Streamline

For our clients who regularly order print marketing collateral from us, we enhanced our Streamline product offering. Streamline sites provide our clients with a “company branded” online ordering option to ensure you obtain your branded materials quickly and efficiently.

We also launched a LinkedIn Streamline Users Group to be able to provide valuable information and resources.

Until 2019…

Looking ahead at the next 365 days, we will continue focussing on our team. There will be continued analysis and training to enable them to do the very best job possible. We will continue to be a resource that has unmatched levels of service and support to our valued clients.

Our culture will continue to encourage passionate  individuals who want to see our clients succeed and share in that success. Our team will also continue to seek out clients that appreciate the value we provide in a marketing partnership.
